Regular oral health checkups are essential, and oral surgery plays a crucial role in addressing more complex dental and health concerns. At our practice, we focus on comprehensive oral care, understanding that a healthy mouth is directly linked to your overall well-being.

Many serious health conditions can have oral origins, including infections that may impact the heart and other vital organs. Bacteria-related issues often start in the mouth, making early diagnosis and treatment through oral surgery a critical step in safeguarding your health.

Oral surgery involves procedures that go beyond routine dental care, including wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and corrective jaw surgery. These treatments help restore function, alleviate pain, and improve both oral and overall health.

While your visit to our office may be for a specific oral surgery procedure, we take a holistic approach to your care, ensuring that every treatment contributes to the long-term health of your smile and jaw function.

Oral surgical procedures are designed to provide lasting results, but follow-up care and periodic assessments are necessary. Our goal is to maintain your oral health at its best, ensuring that you enjoy a confident and comfortable smile for years to come!

Following Post-Surgical Care Instructions and Maintaining Good Oral Hygiene Are Essential for Healing and Long-Term Success.

Some Key Benefits Include:

  • Early diagnosis and surgical intervention can prevent more severe oral health issues and complications.
  • Timely treatment reduces the need for more invasive, costly procedures in the future.
  • Proper healing and care after surgery improve long-term dental function and overall health.

Even with the best oral surgery care, unexpected complications can arise. If you experience unusual pain, swelling, or other concerns after your procedure, don’t hesitate to contact us immediately. Prompt attention could make all the difference in ensuring a smooth recovery and optimal results!

Sedation Dentistry

For your convenience, we offer these three types of comfort and sedation dentistry:

Nitrous Oxide

This “laughing gas,” as most people know it, is used for simple fillings or routine cleaning treatments and is the most common form of sedation. Thanks to this simple form of sedation, your entire dental treatment can be a relaxing experience.

Sedation By IV

During IV Sedation, the patient’s vital signs are monitored throughout the entirety of the procedure, as the sedation is administered via IV. The patient will have been sleeping during the entire process, in this case, and will awaken only after the procedure.

Suppose a patient must return to school or work after completing the procedure. In that case, it will be especially beneficial for them to understand their need for sufficient recovery time before they leave.

Conscience Oral Sedation

We currently offer oral sedation for our patients who wish to remain conscience and yet come to us with gagging problems or a higher than average amount of fear and anxiety. Throughout the entire procedure, we closely monitor their vital signs once giving a combination of oral medications.

Once taking the oral medication we provide, the patient becomes highly relaxed and drowsy, and after their appointment, most patients remember nothing of the fear or anxiety they may have thought to experience without.

You will not be put to sleep with oral sedation, and during the entire procedure, you will be able to respond to Dr. Melancon and his team.
